A Dazzaling Holiday

Happy first day of winter! How have you all been? I'm so sorry for failing to blog, but I am the laziest and biggest procrastinator in the world; thus it has come to the point where I skipped a full season before I updated this blog. Regardless welcome back! Let's move on to what you really are here for!

Gold Sequin Long Sleeve Bodycon Dress by Xenia.

I've always wanted a sequin holiday glam dress so when I saw this on [UsTrendy.com] I knew I had to get it! This dress is made completely of gold sequins and has shoulder-pads that comes with it to be more well-fitted on the body frame. This dress also features a low back cut that allows the dress to be
different from your average simplistic sequin dresses. It's flirty and classy at the same time.
I'm not the tallest person in the world at 5'0 so the dress hits me a little above my knees, but I believe on anyone taller than me this dress will be rather shorter and hit at mid thighs. I have included photos of the model wearing it from UsTrendy's website and as you can see it hits the model at thigh length.
(photos from UsTrendy)

Here is a layout of how I chose to wear the outfit! I styled the dress with minimal jewelry as the dress already stands out on it's own with much glam! I wanted to include red nail-polish layered on with additional gold accents to complete the holiday look :)

Le Beach & Outfit

Bring you another blog post... at 1:30 A.M. I've seriously got some loose screws in my head for "elegantly" procrastinating, and failing to become productive in life. I have a tendency live like a sack of potatoes, and all I do is ...nothing. It's time to finally blog about my fun time at the beach about exactly 1 week ago :) It takes a while, but everyone did say it's the effort and the ability to finish that counts not how fast you get there [I will just keep telling myself that ;)].

My friend, her brother, and I we've planned to visit the famous Acai bowl location called Banzai Bowl after seeing so many people, literally SO MANY, take photos and rave about it so of course what better way to spend our weekends than to go eat? We did just that and stopped for a few minutes at the beach of course to enjoy the scenery and take a break to enjoy what we can of Summer Break.

We ordered by cell phone prior to going to Banzai Bowl because we were afraid of waiting. Because we ordered by phone we got our order pretty quickly and had to wait only 6 minutes and they came out in pretty large cups with lots of fresh fruits and granola on top! I can say this was a new experience for me and I couldn't get quite used to it. I ordered a small Maui Sunrise! Very filling if that's what you indeed are looking for!

I wouldn't want to leave this blog post without showing you photos of the beautiful view/scenery.

Moving onto my outfit :)

Because I can't swim and also because I'd like to believe that I am a nun, I choose to be all covered up with a few exceptions of skin showing. In my defense we were only staying for 2 hours, and so I wanted to dress up for the beach! I wore thin clothing so that the heat would not affect me too much! I purchased this beautiful crochet and floral kimono + my silver bracelet just a few days in advance just for this beach outfit! I braided 4 strands of braids into my hair, and had it left wavy for a beach inspired hairdo. As for the hat not only did it match perfectly with my kimono but it added for some protection against the blazing sun! To finish off the look I wore some brown bohemian sandles :)

This finishes up my beach day and what I wore to the beach :) I will be going back to the beach in 2 days and I can't wait to show you what I'll be wearing until then! You'll probably read that blog post a million years because that's probably when I might stop procrastinating!

Polar Opposite

I've happened to realize the only time that blogging appealed to me is at late nights (today being an exception). Everyone always talks about having 2 A.M. thoughts; but, in all honesty, for me my 2 AM thoughts consist of wanting to clean up my room and doing "chores" to find a way to become productive... that and my weird cravings for spicy foods at night (don't ask). I believe it's time that you all need to know a secret about me. I really prefer wearing casual and comfortable clothing at all costs, with only a few occasions where I want to dress up. Let's face it, being girly all the time is so boring and it's always fun to experiment with the polar opposite of the spectrum.

DIY Levi High Waisted Shorts
Booties from Amiclubwear.com
Bracelets from CharlotteRusse.com
Necklace @shantique designs & Forever21.com

There's honestly something appealing to me about wearing flannels regular t-shirts, and I would wear it all day if I could. Unfortunately, this story dies short, I had only owned 2 flannels. "Had" because I just added a new baby to my not-really-a-collection of flannels. Flannels are essential closet must-haves for me, because I can literally pair it over any casual top and throw on any denim bottoms and walk out the door. So that's exactly what I did. I paired my light washed green and gray flannel over a casual graphic tee. To finish off the look I added a pair of ripped denim shorts and a pair of black caged booties, and I accessories with silver and black metal pieces.

Tops @skeptiksapparel
skirt, necklace & bracelets- CharlotteRusse.com
Shorts- Hotmiamistyles.com
For these outfits I wanted to keep the brand's original concept of the "Street Look". Skeptiks is a brand of affordable aesthetic clothing (under 20$) that so kindly e-mailed me asking me to style their pieces and of course I found no reason not to. I received a navy blue crop top with their logo on it, and the Los Angeles Black Tank. I wanted to give the outfits a little more edginess by pairing them with gold heavy pieces. I did this by adding gold chained necklaces and bracelets to both outfits. As for the bottoms, I paired them with more casual items to allow for these street looks to be transformed into something anyone can wear. The same lace shoes are paired with both outfits as I wanted these two outfits to have a similar best-friends type of attire.

LookbookStore Collaboration Part 2

To end the final collaboration looks with Lookbookstore of course I had to blog and tell you how I went about and styled their clothing!

Kimono & Flats @CharlotteRusse
Bag @Forever21
Shorts @Lookbookstore
Necklaces @Shantiquedesigns

Growing Roses~
These shorts, although they are your average high waisted denim jean shorts, is very unique in comparison to the many shorts I already own. I love how the denim is cutely made with the cuffed bottoms to give more of an old-school vintage look; however, in contrast the printed white roses adds a touch of girlyness. The fit of these shorts also reminds me of AA high waisted shorts that you can get for triple the price of these affordable pair! These shorts and I are in love at first sight (honestly).
I styled the shorts with this beautiful darker floral kimono that also has rose printed designs on it that you can find on Charlotte Russe! I just love how the roses on the kimono and the roses on the shorts are an incidental similar print. To pair off the neon colors of the kimono I added a simple black halter top from Brandy Melville to complete the entire fit. I went with simpler accessories, as the kimono and shorts paired together already has a lot of patterns going on. I did not want to distract away from the outfit's main focal point, the roses.

Floral Obsession
I'm pretty sure you already know by know that I may be a little, okay a lot, obsessed with florals. I didn't know it was truly an addiction until one of my instagram friends told me something along the lines, "you're always in florals babe." I realized she was right and while scrolling on my instagram page I felt like a floral crack addict with no control. Florals Florals Florals everywhere, as if to flaunt my addiction. With every new purchase it appears to always be floral in some form or manner. Lookbookstore simply fed my addiction, but honestly, how can I say no to such a beautiful shade of kimono? The florals on this kimono definitely remind me of an actual Japanese kimono print. I love the subdue pink and light green combination. The length of this kimono is longer so it pairs amazingly well with shorts and a crop top, which I did here with my Iwearsin signature v-cut crop & my diy high waited shorts. Can you blame me really? It's an actual sin not to purchase this kimono ;) Once a floral addict always a floral addict, I added the floral crown because I'm a floral obsessed addict.

I hope I didn't scare you away with my weird personality! But in any-case I realized my problem with florals and have vowed to myself that I will resist all urges to buy any more floral pieces. Let's just hope it doesn't turn out how everyone plans a new goal during "New Year Resolutions".

You Are My World

Charlotte Russe Graphic Tee, Shoes & Bag
@Shantiquedesings Necklaces
Forever21 Bag
@cutehairbows Bow

I'm 100% sure my blog titles has nothing to do with my outfits, but I hope you understand the meaning behind title nonetheless! I created this outfit attempting to aim for a much darker look then my usual lights so here it is! :) I love this graphic moon top so much and can't seem but swoon at how cute the small neon stars are! I don't often purchase many graphic tops anymore, as I've come to realize I don't wear them much at all, but this top will surely be one that I will wear! I paired this top with some black items such as my bag, lace shoes, wallet, and a darker galaxy blue hair bow! I did attempt to pair darks and lights as I've mentioned in my previous 2 posts, and so I used a darker shade of denim high waisted shorts that I've actually created myself! How do you feel about this outfit? Personally I find it perfect for a walk in the park or for a casual hangout with friends :)

LookbookStore Collaboration! Sunshine OOTD

One of the cutest stores Lookbookstore allowed me to collaborate with them and feature their pieces on my Instagram! Of course I had to blog and share with you on how much I love these pieces, because I sincerely do!

Here I styled their a cross cropped top & their beautiful daisy shorts! I actually have a dress in this print as well, but the dress is 2 shades lighter than my shorts! Can we discuss how much I may be in love with my new shorts? I love the print because it is one of my favorite flowers: daisies! The little pom pom detailing on the the bottom brings the shorts to another level of cuteness! As for safer measures the band is made of elastic, so do not fear in case you are uncertain of what size you might be! However, on the opposite spectrum, if these are too small you can easily hand sew the elastic in one inch to fit your needs! As for my crop top, I do suggest ordering a size up for the crop top as the size I choose US Size 2. The top was slightly snugly on me, but very flattering on once I managed to wear the top on :P ! I added on my favorite Forever21 hodded cardigan and a pair of basic brown sandles & a hat for a beachy type of inspired outfit. I'm not really sure if it worked as I'm pretty sure no one would actually wear too many bracelets to the beach :P, but it's the effort that counts right? I would hope so <3

Dreaming of Creams

Is it bad that I'm always wearing only darks and lights? My close friend Amy was giving me fashion advice on how I should learn to play with my outfits and choose to wear them with a combination of both darks and lights. I've been successfully learning to do so due to her advice and it's not as hard as I imagine it would be! In any case, a bad habit will remain a bad habit and I still have a love and obsession for all creams-neutral clothing. Here are some of my favorite looks with a mostly all neutrals- creams! :)

Charlotte Russe- Crop Top & shoes
@shantiquedesigns Necklaces
Thrifted Shorts & Bag

I love how simple and minimalist this outfit is! The simple layered necklaces adds the perfect final touches to any basic outfit! Sometimes when life gives you lemons, make the best out of them! I believe every closet has a few basic pieces that can easily be pulled together for the perfect look ;)

Fashion Q top & skirt
Charlotte Russe Sandles
Ebay Coin Necklace
@shantiquedesigns Smaller Sun Necklace
@bellelavie_xo Bralette

I was attempting to go for a bohemian style type of outfit! I am obsessed with bohemian cream colors and statement necklaces, and hopefully this outfit was a good representation of what I was attempting to aim for! Every detailing of this outfit is majority creams- nudes and in my opinion I think they do justice and flatters each other!

Charlotte Russe Bracelets & Crop Top
Pacsun Skort
Forever21 Necklace

This outfit is posted on my Instagram a LONG time ago, but I never managed to have the time to post an individual blog post for it! Well now here it is posted along with all of my creams! :) I scored this beautiful skort from Pacsun and couldn't be happier about how flattering and cute it is!

@Lightinthebox Cardigan
IwearSin Crop top
Thrifted Shorts
Forever21 necklaces
Charlotte Russe Shoes & Watch
BCBG Dream Bracelet

One of my favorite outfit layouts that I have not yet had the time to wear! I personally love how the creams and lace really compliments each other! But can we first discuss how cute and perfect this crop top is from @iwearsin?! It's simply so beautiful and is such an amazing cute piece that I'm sure I will wear to death.

You've finally reached the end of my Dreaming in Creams blog post! I really do love my all cream outfits and I hope these outfits will inspire your own all creams look :)

Birthday Celebration Food & OOTD

Last week was my friend's birthday, however me and my other friend planned her birthday celebration a few days after (2 days back) and here was how my day was spent. She was dropped off without any idea of where she was going so my friend and I drove her to one of the places she talked about Boiling Point!

- Boiling Point is well known for their famous hot pots at an affordable price ranging from 12-18 dollar. You get a generous size for what you pay for, and you always get more soup in case you ever run out of the soup base. They also have a special in which if you make it in time during their lunch special you get a free cup of tea (free is better, must I say more?). I love coming to Boiling Point specifically for their macaron ice-cream (yea.. I have macaron issues)- these babies only cost 2.50.

I choose the Beef Hot Pot for myself and always turn off the fire before I start eating (Yes, I know what's the point of eating a "HOT" pot then?- Shhh.. I prefer to have my tongue not burnt thank you very much.). I'm not going to describe how the hot pot tasted because frankly I forgot myself- Wendy has a burning hatred against hot pots, but the macarons made her time worthwhile ;). As for the macarons they were perfect in chewiness and was not too sweet either. The homemade ice-cream that Boiling Point uses is also the bomb.com (I've only tried their strawberry macaron so don't count my words against me for any other flavor).

Now let us move onto my outfit :)

It was rather a cold day so I decided to layer up and and wear some of my favorite "Winter" pieces. I loved the darker and edgy pieces of this outfit. We don't often get many "cold" days in California so when we do I take advantage of it.

What I Wore:
Lightinthebox.com- Olive Anorak
Bellelaviexo.com - Lace Black Bralette
Debshops.com- Gray knit cardigan
Forever21- Necklace
FashionQ- Top
Guess- Gray Jeans
JGalt- Bag

That's all for my simple outfit for a cooler birthday celebration. I am loving grays and blacks together as a coordinate pair and I can't wait to wear darker colors for my night outfits.

Motivation Monday- Confidence

Welcome to a new segment that I've decided to begin having every Monday until... well when I run of ideas. I can honestly say that this year is going to be one of the toughest years for my schooling and with that there comes many negative thoughts, but if you happen to read this hopefully my optimism will eventually allow you to feel the same.

"Be Confident Wendy"
You have no idea how many times I've heard this from this particular one teacher. This was told to me many many times before, due to my lack of confidence in the work that I put out. I am still seemingly like that today, even when I put my best work forward, I go back to check and question whether the work was good enough in the first place. To be honest I don't believe that I will ever be 100% confident, but that's okay because I'm human! I will eventually crack and fall back into feeling insecure. If you happen to be reading this I would love for you to be able to see the beauty in everything that you are and even the mistakes that you "stupidly" make. Confidence is not going to pop out of unicorn dust and you won't be able to gain it easily. Through tough mistakes and the hardships you make you will adjust and look past your flaws and learn to accept them and conqueror them! You will then begin to have confidence in your decisions and yourself. If you are ever feeling like a lump of poo remember that life is so much more of a joyous adventure if you quit looking back at your actions and embrace flaws. Be confident in the fact that you, yourself, are not composed of the flaws or mistakes that you make, but rather who you will become from these mistakes.

Confidence is women's (or man's) best attire.

P.S- I understand that someone may disagree with my opinions and beliefs but to each their own.

-XOXO

Love of my Life & Outfit of the Day

You were expecting to see an image of a man? Opps I'm sorry currently my heart belongs only to these little babies! It seems like you already know that by now ;). I started off my morning by getting some sweet treats to start my day. Let's be honest who wouldn't want macarons to start their day? Everyone or Everybody :P? I got my favorite flavors of Salted Caramel, Pistachio, and Coconut. They are just photogenic it's hard to resist NOT taking photos of macarons ... Well maybe it's just me.

I loved the weather that day. It was breezy and warm so why not break out some of my favorite clothing to sport such lovely weather? I wore my Brandy Melville Moselle sweater dupe that I got from Forever 21. I mean who would want to pay 60 when you can get a similar one from 23? I did wear Brandy Melville's blue floral crop top. I just love how this crop top screams Spring and the colors are so bright and fun contrasted against the creams. To finish off the outfit I paired the outfit with your everyday cream skirt. I was able to receive so many compliments wearing this outfit too!

P.S I also curled my hair, to complete the girly look, since it takes me crazy long to curl my hair so I can't curl it too often :(

Friendly Invasion

It kind of nice to have friends who dress in similar tastes with you so you can "steal" their outfits! HAHA All jokes aside my friends and I always share each other's clothing, so it is kind of like I have a shopping mall for a wardrobe! One of my friend was so kind to let me borrow her kimono and tank top so I can create a similar outfit to the one she wore, but I add my signature key touches to it! She actually choose to wear this outfit  more casually with a pair of knit leggings letting the tank top flow down. Instead I decided to dress the outfit up a bit by wearing the tank top tied into a knot allowing for the high waisted portion of these shorts to appear! I also paired this outfit with a small dainty golden heart necklace. I am in love with the print of this kimono and thankfully for me my friend was able to spot it at her local Tillys (which I don't shop often at) so I would never been able to know about it! I loved my outfit so much and I know I will be borrowing this kimono more often!

10 Thousand Friends

AHHH I just reached 10 thousand friends on Instagram just a few days ago and it is kind of breathtaking to see how far I was able to go. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am to have everyone's support and to have been able to make so many new friends, whether it be my lovely fashionistas or new friends that I have never gotten the chance to meet. It is kind of a crazy thing to know that some of these friends live half way across the globe while others live near me (literally several minutes away)! I'm so thankful for everyone who was able to encourage me to get this far and for so much more!

It's quite surprising to many to hear this but my favorite goal that I was able to reach was actually earning myself 1,000 friends. It's much more rigorous and being such a small account having those first few 1,000 supporting you is crazy enough! But to be truthfully honest the more you gain the more stressful it can be! There were times where I felt I wasn't good enough and there was better, what made me so special? To realize that there are always people encouraging me to continue was enough for me to do so even if I may not be the best ;) and that's a good type of change.

There's numerous of times I nearly had a heart attack seeing my favorite fashion bloggers liked my photos or even decided to become my friend! It's extremely encouraging to see that those who inspires you are becoming closer to you this way! I've also been able to build such an amazing instagram family whom I adore each and every single member!
Curiosity killed the cat! What's it like having 10 thousand friends?
1. It can get upsetting when you can't reply to everyone as fast as you can possibly especially on a tight schedule. I really wish I could answer everyone's such kind comments asap but with so many it's rather hard to do so.. which means I won't be able to reply until the next day or 2 :(!

2. There's almost always a new notification! Luckily for me I don't have a buzzer or anything once this happens!

3. Knowing you have 10 thousand friends some across the globe and others living near you is kind of a crazy yet neat thing!

4. To be honest it's nothing really special or particular! I'm still me and thankfully this hasn't got to my head! I hope everyone realizes that even if you have 1 follower or 1 million followers, taking photos of what you loving and doing what you love shouldn't depend on the number of followers or likes you gain!

-XOXO

Daisies in Winter

I apologize for being away for what seems like a decade, but I'm back and this time I will attempt to update more frequently! If you haven't already followed me on my Instagram [Weendydao] then you may not know this but I have been having an obsession for Daisies. There is something about the delicacy of the white petals and the cuteness of the inner "sunshine". Moving on, I hope my attempts at bringing daisy back into Winter is effective, I would love to wear flowers year round if I could.
This is actually one of my favorites outfits that I ever created. I love daisy detailing on the skirt that is toned down by the neutral thicker cardigan and leather crop top. The thigh high completes the look, as it gives an extra warmth to the outfit.

This outfit would be something I would love to wear for on a fun date.
Details:
Brandy Melville Cardigan
Fashion Q- Faux Leather Crop & Skirt
Papers & Peonies Thigh High Socks

This hair up-do is actually my "cheat it yourself way into winter" using colorful daisies. As my outfit may be more dull  my up-do manages to save the day and give a more girly and brighten look to any of my outfits. I would just pair this up-do with any big loose comfy sweaters and I'm out the door!
This daisy crop top was much fitting for one of the California's breezy yet chill day. Simplicity at it's best or my lack of effort, give or take. The daisies are the key focus of the outfit as the cute yellow centers of the daisy gives the outfit the much needed effortless look. I threw on a denim jacket to steer away the morning chill.

Tips: If you have a spring or summer piece that you would like to wear in the fall or winter, layering is key! You can always pair tights, thigh high/knee high socks, boots, scarves, extra layers, and obtain the effortless winter chic look. Or tone down the piece (if it were to be more brighter and colorful) with basics such as browns, blacks, and beige. Leather x Velvet pieces are also a winter basic!
