My love for macarons have been actually scary lately! I would love to say that I did try these little French cookies 4 years back and was not a fan, now looking at this I feel like an addict to these little cookies! macarons are simply almond made cookies with powdered sugar, egg whites, and graduated sugar. These do cost more on the pricey side from 1.25-2.50 depending on where you buy them. There's a reason why these little cookies are so pricey. With the expensive cost of the almond flour and the long enduring time to make these cookies (they aren't as easy to make as they are pretty). They come in beautiful different shades of colors to match the different flavors each cookie has to offer (pistachio-green, salted caramel-pink, coffee-brown, taro-purple, etc.). Rising stars with their pictures taken posted on Instagram, Tumblr, etc. it macarons seems must try dessert item! p.s: the best macarons are round and has large feet!
Taste wise they have a crunchy outer shell that has a chewy middle and the flavor of the eaters preference in the very middle of the two shells. Some taste sweetier than others due to the flavor or the baker who made these little nuggets. They contain very little calories so you can eat a few (or maybe more than a few) and not feel guilty!
I definitely recommend picking up a few if you ever get the chance! P.S some locations actually allow you to place ice-cream in the middle of a very large macaron ( 4 smaller macarons in comparison in size to the larger one).
Recommended flavors are : Salted Caramel & Pistachio!
